LOL, we ought to have the BP car award for prediction contests.

Make a little one to give someone as an award. Here's the template for the photoshop skilled.

From the opening kickoff, Ohio State dominated the game against the Miami Redhawks. Justin Zwick took advantage of the suspension to Troy Smith and executed a solid game while he was under center for the Buckeyes. Donte Whitner's intereception return for a touchdown highlighted the action on defense. Ted Ginn caught a 42-yard touchdown pass from Todd Boeckman, who was playing quarterback for the first time in three seasons. OSU now has the momentum in their favor heading into Texas week.

what people are overlooking is how discipilined we were. how many penalties did we have? it couldnt have been many, i dont think either of our lines jumped offsides, i dont remember any face masks either, i know we had a roughing the kicker and holding but thats all i can remember.
Box score says 2 penalties for 26 yards. I agree that it's been overlooked; playing disciplined football like that in a home opener is very difficult to do, and discipline can be what separates a good team from a great one. I watched that Va Tech/NC State game and had flashbacks of what the Buckeye team had become by the 2000/01 season, particularly in the Outback Bowl before Cooper was shown the door. I can handle a loss if the Buckeyes are outplayed. I could not handle a loss, like we saw last night with NC State, when the team does everything to win and gives up 100 yards in penalties. We saw the exact same thing last season when the Bucks played NC State too.

On topic, our Bucks aside, I was most impressed by Ryne Robinson and the DBs Joey Card and Darrell Hunter. Card displayed some serious wheels and never quit, and Hunter showed awesome hands on the INT. I know Nance is the #1 receiver, and he was Miami's yardage leader, but he had some drops that left me scratching my head. I'm not sure if Whitner and Salley were whispering in his ear or what, but I've read that this has been a problem for Nance, so he might need to spend some time catch 100mph tennis balls from a Jugs Machine. I was a little disappointed with Nande too, though I hear he may have had a hand injury? Nande has been praised as a physical freak for the past six months from a variety of sources, but weight room feats aside he didn't show the footwork and fundamentals to be a first round choice. Pittman bowled him over and carried him on at least two occassions, and most of it was the fault of Nande's body position and feet.

Anyone else notice the weight Ted Ginn put on? When I saw his video on the Jumbotron, I could definitely see it in his neck and upper body. He also looked pretty thick in the pre-game interviews. He looked great and seemed like he didn't loose a step of speed.

Terna Nande was indeed playing with a broken hand. All in all, it coulda been a whole lot worse, and I'll admit it. Mililani.... that is eerily close, you getting inside info? I'll eat a bug if OSU loses to Tejas, and they are clicking like they were Saturday.

Ok, finally back after the long weekend. I'm still smiling from my trip to Columbus. Everything was awesome. No need to re-state everything that's been said here already.

A couple items of note:

Before the game, I walked right past Coach Matta, who was walking with a recruit, the same one pictured above. Anyone know who he is? Walking a few people behind Matta was Matt Sylvester.

Just as the game was ending, I passed Coach Bollman, and a couple of other assistants as they were running to the lockerroom from the press box. Congratulated him on a good game.

A few minutes later, we saw Ken Johnson and his wife/girlfriend and daughter. A very large man......

After the game we celebrates with a few cold ones at the Thirsty Scholar, where we were able to watch the end of the OU/TCU game and the start of the scUM game. Nice place.

Yeah, that was the dude. I'm not completely up to date on roundball recruiting, so I won't begin to make a guess as to who it is.

Re: the Thirsty Scholar: I don't think they had their drink specials in effect. I didn't see anyone drinking draft beers, everyone had cans. $3.50 for Bud Light, Coors Light and Miller Lite. Not a bad price.
