2028 DE Cassell Cruickshank and DT Jamarcus Johnson

From a recruiting perspective, no Ohio State assistant has a bigger weekend ahead than Larry Johnson, as two of the best defensive linemen in the entire 2028 class are expected at Ohio Stadium for Saturday’s game.

Johnson, the No. 5 defensive lineman and No. 29 overall prospect in the 2028 class, makes his way to Columbus less than one month after receiving his offer from the Buckeyes. A massive defensive tackle at 6-foot-5 and 330 pounds, Johnson – who lives in Lyons, Georgia – would add some beef to the future of the Buckeyes’ defensive line, which should be a priority with how they’ve missed the dominant presence of Kayden McDonald in the middle of the trenches this season.

Per Tom Loy, Ohio State is now a serious threat to land Keaton Fields, Jamarcus Johnson and Jayshawn Mitchell after their visits last weekend.
Just the latest elite recruits Ohio State has made a huge move with along with Lincoln Fa’alafi.

Also has Ohio State, Texas, Tennessee and Auburn battling for Jamarcus Johnson and says no team has created separation among that group. Miami is looking to get in the picture when he visits this weekend. Pretty significant that Ohio State made such a big move with one visit.
