Possibly because a player and family that have already bought in to what Ohio State is selling are less likely to be swayed by the extra illegal perks that Tennessee offers to push them over the top in these high profile recruitments.

Mayhaps, but with NIL and whatnot, am unclear with what is 'illegal' or not anymore. With boosters 'donating' money, cars, houses, jobs etc. Not believing that a) anything is illegal; b) the NCAA could/would catch it if they could anyway. That's why the SEC isn't #1 anymore, the rest of football can legally do what they've been getting away with for decades. Just sayin'.

Exactly.

There is no illegal anymore. Just “unwilling”.

It’s illegal to offer these things to members of a player’s family or inner circle. It seems fairly clear that still remains firmly outside the realm of what is permissible under NIL and what Tennessee is clearly engaging in.
