2027 GA DL David "DJ" Jacobs is a Buckeye!!!

While I might privately grumble about tOSU's 'keeping the bag closed' on many a recruit, overall I think that the overriding philosophy is correct. The rent-a-player works, see some of the 'newly' top teams, but ultimately being developed for the lucrative NFL is its own reward. Very good facilities, and a coaching staff that has NFL experiences, and a winning tradition is a long term plan. If you can make it there (tOSU), you can make it anywhere. Couldn't find a quarter note emoji...

I’d be really curious to see a survey taken amongst a high volume of recruits to see how many actually care about tradition/history at this point.

I’m not saying they don’t; but I’m not 18 anymore and my kid is only 8 and she probably won’t play college football so I’m just genuinely curious where that ranks at this point.

Anyway back to the player; my bad. He’s good. There.

Not to be negative nelly, but any recruit that DOESN'T pay attention to this single history fact: What school puts the most players into the NFL. Specifically, the position which you play. If they don't know the answer to that question, the recruit might not have the smarts to play for the correct team....

On an interview, one can always score points by noting past successes/troubles at the company one is interviewing. Shows you care enough to research out what's what. Heck with the internet tools these days, if you don't research, that's also saying something.

Jacobs remains atop the rankings following a MaxPreps Junior All-American season at Blessed Trinity Catholic in Roswell, Georgia. In 11 games, the 6-foot-5, 235-pound edge rusher recorded 102 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 16 sacks and two forced fumbles. He also participated in both the Under Armour All-America Game and Polynesian Bowl as an underclassman, combining for two tackles for loss and a sack across the two all-star showcases.

The son of former Georgia defensive lineman David Jacobs, Jacobs committed to Ohio State on Dec. 29, 2025. The Buckeyes beat out his home-state Bulldogs for his pledge, along with fellow finalists Florida State, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Oregon and Texas A&M.
