Ron Lewis arrived back to the States last weekend after a great season of basketball. His team finished the regular season with a nice 40-4 record. Plus they won the Czech Championship last week. Lewis & Je'Kel Foster blew up this season (earning a bunch of offers)..both will play high level European basketball somewhere next season.

Couple short clips of Ron Lewis following the Belgian Cup Championship from late April. First vid is the post game interview, second is a big block during the game. His team Mons is currently in the semi-finals of the Belgian Playoffs. Go Ron! :)

Back in Israel

Ron Lewis signed on with Israeli club Hapoel Holon in August for his fifth season of pro ball. Lewis previously played in Israel during the 2008/2009 season for Iron Nahariya before moving on to the Czech Republic (2009/2010 - won the Czech Championship & also advanced to the 2010 Eurocup final eight with CEZ Nymburk - He then competed with Dexia Mons in Belgium last season - 2010-2011 - Advanced to the Belgian semi-finals).

Lewis made a big splash at the 2011 Israeli Super Cup Pre-Season Tournament this week. He scored 20 points in the quarterfinals, 24 in the semis including six threes (link) and he also contributed 15 in a near upset (link) of powerhouse Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the finals on October 13, 2011.

I will ALWAYS have a soft spot for Ron Lewis. He gave me, by far, my favorite basketball memory:

I watched that game with about 15 XU kids who were busy planning their parties to celebrate the win while watching the game.
