I've been a Laker fan since the 80's (my childhood) and am happy for Russell.

That said, I don't think Byron Scott is a good coach (he's probably a stop-gap) and think Jim Buss is a real-life version of "Tommy Boy".

I thought it would take 8-10 years after Phil left to become a championship contender again (that's my opinion of Jim Buss more than anything, Jeanie on the business side is fine). It's been four.

I hope Russell can succeed.

Yeah that yellow hat kind of clashed with the suit, which looked pretty nice without the hat. But I'm happy Russell was able to get picked by LA, I don't think they will stay bad like some other teams. I didn't want another OSU star to go to the Sixers to be another of many players in their churn & burn, seemingly never-ending rebuilding process.

But LA needs to be patient, though, as I think it may take a few years for Russell to really come into his own. In other words, I don't expect him to start off being one of the best shooters in the league, but he has a chance to develop into that.

Best possible scenario for Russell imo. Really excited for him and glad to see him go #2 overall. And I loved the suit, gotta love him repping the S&G. Wish him all the best in the NBA and I truly do think he is going to be a star.

Saw the suit and my first thought was.....OMG!
Whatever, it worked!
And a good "promotion" for the basketball program.
Thad should get some great kids out of DAR's face time in his OSU honoring outfit!
