The plain clothes made a mistake by going and grabbing two delivery guys to come out and intimidate you. Those guys probably don't have anything to do anymore since nobody makes 200-lb rear projection TVs these days.

He should have known you didn't lift any memory cards or PSP games because the anti-theft security tags would have triggered the alarm at the door. I would have challenged the plain clothes to tell me what I stole and which pocket I put it in, then kept walking.

I would fire off a couple of emails to their regional and corporate offices.

I haven't seen a greeter yet that could detain me. When I worked there, someone stole some shirts or some [censored], and a manager tried to get me to run to the front of the store to stop them. I was like "[censored] no". I don't run to benefit myself...I'm sure as [censored] not running to save a couple t-shirts.
As much as I hate to agree with Kyle , I will this time. I sure as hell ain't going to stand around being questioned by the whole dang store staff.
Just say no and keep on truckin.

Had a similar situation happen about 10 years ago at Ames. I think they are all Targets now. I went in and bought some spark plugs for our old snowmobile but I stopped into the electronics dept. to look at cds. Didn't find anything I wanted so I headed back to the automotive area (which was clear in the back corner of the store) and got the plugs. I paid and walked out. No sooner than I got out the door someone grabbed me by the hood of my jacket and told me I needed to come back inside. I asked why and they said they had video of me shoplifting. I told the guy I didn't steal anything and if he didn't get his hands off me that he was going to get fucked up. He told me he had every right to detain me and if I didn't come back in he was going to call the sheriff. I said I wish you would. So we stood outside until the sheriff got there. We went inside and the sheriff deputy asked me to empty my pockets and I did. Of course there was nothing and the sheriff looked at the security gaurd and said next time be sure and then asked me if I wanted to press assault charges. I looked at the security gaurd and he had the funniest look on his face. I told him no I didn't want the guy to lose his job over it and left. Never went back onto that store again even though it was the most convenient place to go from our house. They put a Wal-Mart across the street from it a few years later and it was gone within 6 or 8 months.

Never let them touch you unless you are willing to press assault charges. They all know they aren't allowed to touch you so if they do,they are deliberately breaking the law and deserve to lose their jobs. It is never a case of an accident or they just didn't know. Press charges. I dated a Mervyn's loss prevention dude. He was a total dick. Did everything he could to get "his numbers" including all the things that were not only against policy but also against the law. He would come home and laugh and joke about it.

That's the thing, he just said I went through a couple sections and was acting suspicious, he hinted at the psp games and later hinted about the cell phone accessories, I was wondering if he thought I put an LCD TV in my ass by the way he was jumping through every section i went to. Meh, easier to shop online, so I am over it. I was angry as hell last night though.

Yup, unless they want him to pass along his story to a number of high traffic deal & electronic message boards.

Make that employee's salary buy you the things he was suspicious of you stealing.

While I'd be upset as well, I'm pretty sure I'd go back in there at least a few times just to see that dillweed.

Did you feel compelled to stay when he radioed it in? Or were you trying to not look suspicious or just see where these buffoons were heading with it?

Plain and fucking simple, cut and fucking dried...You think I'm a thief, call the fucking police. You are not a cop. Fuck, you're not even a rent-a-cop, you're a fucking hourly employee. This angers me more than I can convey in words. Someone lays a fucking hand on me in the name of a corporation, they're pulling back a fucking nub. I wish they would...seriously. I'd go ape shit.
