From Hayes Era Onward vs Michigan

Good stuff, though I would take the rivalry back to 1935 (when it was moved to the last game of the season), even if doing so does spot Michigan a few extra wins. I fully expect Tressel to undo the damage Cooper wrought, both in WIN% against UM and in bowl games.

Since 1935:

UM 35 - OSU 31 - TIES 4
UM 27 Big-10 Championships - OSU 26 Big-10 Championships
UM 2 National Championships ('48, '97) - OSU 5 National Championships ('42, '54, '57, '68, '02)
UM 3 Heisman Trophies ('40, '91, '97) - OSU 6 Heisman Trophies ('44, '50, '55, '74, '75, '95)
UM 17-17-0 in Bowl Games - OSU 16-18-0 in Bowl Games
UM 7-10-0 in 17 Rose Bowl Appearances - OSU 6-6-0 in 12 Rose Bowl Appearances

And the most amazing of all
UM 527-195-17 (.713 in 739 games) - OSU 527-182-22 (.720 in 731 games)

* all numbers include all games played this year except bowls.

I'll give UM a few extra wins and rose bowl appearances (which they didn't even win), for a better WIN% and twice as many National Titles and Heisman Trophies. I'd look into All-American selections too (I've heard OSU is the leader here as well) but I wouldn't know where to look.

Oh yeah ...

then im sure you can put a big * next to ours too.

And which one(s) would that(those) be? Our 1954, 1957, 1968, and 2002 national titles were awarded by one or both of the AP and the Coaches polls, the two "recognized" entities. If you're referring to the 1961 and/or 1970 national titles, those two were awarded by bonafide, albeit lesser known, entities: Football Writers Association of America in 1961; and National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame in 1970. The Ohio State University recognizes both of these titles, and that's more than good enough for me.

Bumpus maximus.

Year Gm Win% W. L. T
1919 90 .489 42 44 4
1928 81 .506 39 38 4
1951 58 .534 30 26 2

Notes: 1919 is the year of our first win in The Rivalry. 1928 is the furthest we can go back and maintain a winning record. Of course, 1951 is when Woody took over.

Two more years, and we'll have a neutral (0.5) record against scUM from 1919, because we won 3 straight with Chic Harley. Then we'll have the long process of nullifying the 13 wins they had before that. I really HATE those fuckers.

Chic Harley only played TSUN once. He played in '16 and '17, when TSUN was not on the schedule, was in the service in '18, and played in the first victory in the rivalry in '19, his final season.

I didn't even notice the dates when I started reading thing. In one post, it was stated JT was 3-1. I was a bit confused.

Anyway, I will be happy when the record becomes .500 since Cooper started at OSU. 9-11-1 right now. 2 more years, hopefully.

I just saw that thread and was about to comment on my mistake... but no... you HAD to beat me to it...

From that article posted above my post...
If TSUN's next score in The Shoe is a touchdown with a kicked extra point, they will have 666 points at our house. Seems fitting.
They did... and they do now...

Definitely fitting.

I made this graph to trace the two teams' leads in the series since year X. Notice that we lead the series going back to every year since the start of the Cooper era.
