Frisco Bowl Champion Kent State

Some people here know that when I first got out of the army in 1993 I intended to go to Ohio State. I was accepted and was ready to start the the following fall when my father was diagnosed with lymphoma. I decided to stay closer to home to help support the family. I wound up going to Kent State instead figuring I’d transfer after my dad recovered. He never did and I wound up completing my bachelors degree at Kent. I genuinely love my school. In my humble opinion it’s a model regional university that reaches out to a population that don’t have the option to attend a top school like Ohio State. It’s notable alumni include
- Arsenio Hall who rose to fame as the unfunny sidekick to Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence.
- May 2001 playmate Crista Nicole
- failed Miami Dolphins coach Nick Sabin
- high school football standout Jack Lambert
- April 1989 playmate Jennifer Jackson
- Elmer Fudd impersonator Lou Holtz

Fun fact about the Frisco bowl, it’s played in frisco, Texas. I assumed it was in San Francisco.

Useless fact, one of my idiot roommates picked KSU because he thought he would meet Jennifer Jackson. He put the "Kent Read, Kent Write" into Kent State.
