Fresno St. 10 Boise St 61 (Final)

I won't be too pissed unless Oregon State loses tomorrow and we get bypassed for Utah and Boise. What bugs me is the rationale they were using: we come out of the "weak" Big 10. Apparently, the WAC is now a power conference.

Boise State - One win against a ranked team. One. By 5 points. And the opponent was Oregon. And they are ranked 17th. Till tomorrow.

Utah - 2 wins against top 20 teams (as currently ranked) has me less upset. They get the annual invitation to the Ball, which would still leave tOSU on a track to fill a BCS berth.

Boise State can go pound sand.

There's a fine line between gutsy and stupid, but Fresno made it work. 4th and 1 on their own 39, but they got it.

Unfortunately, it's now 3rd and 11.

how many more times will the announcers complain about Ohio State possibly getting a BCS bid?

At it again, are they? That seems to be the theme for the night - Boise belongs, Ohio State does not.

If neither of us gets in how about we go to Boise and kick their asses, just for kicks?

Let the talking heads rant about who should go. Boise will be BCS bowl eligible, but if Utah is the independent that is mandated for BCS selection, which of the remaining BCS bowls would risk the likely financial loss because of Boise's fan base?
If oOSU loses tomorrow, the advantage of tOSU for BCS bowl selection is ticket sales, fan support, and tv veiwership. BCS bowl committees want to show a profit, sell tickets and market a product that will draw ratings on prime time slots.
IMHO tOsu is a no brainer for the Fiesta or Sugar bowl selection committees.

Which brings us back to...QUACK!

I only watched the 4th quarter and a little of the third and it seemed like they were just dogging Ohio State the entire time.

The first quarter was worse. Ohio State is from the "weak" Big Ten, making us less worthy than a team from the mighty WAC, apparently.

I couldn't help but LOL at the fact that they were saying "Where is Ohio State's QUALITY win?" when their OWN NETWORK was hyping up Michigan State the week before, and have been riding Javon Ringer's jock since the beginning of the season... Come on now, beating MSU 45-7 on their own field would be a TAD more impressive than beating Oregon by 5 (the same team who received a gift from Purdue a week earlier) at Autzen Stadium... Call me crazy but if THAT is the only claim to fame for Boise, they have quite the uphill battle...

They can bash Ohio State all they want, but the way they played down the stretch is impressive... Putting Michigan in their place, the way they did, is still VERY impressive in such a storied rivalry, and should not go unnoticed.

Rant over. BOO ESPN...

Done.

Re: Undefeated Bosie State has a message for the BCS. The No. 9 Broncos put together a dazzling audition for college football's big-money bowls in a 61-10 blowout of Fresno State on Friday night.
Entire article: Boise State explodes in second half for 12-0 regular season - NCAA Football - CBSSports.com Live GameCenter

Bosie State outscores Freson State 48-0 in the second half and they didin't "run up the score". They sent a "message to the BCS" and did a "dazzling audition". Where's Aundre Ware when you want him?

An outstanding victory by the #15 Sagarin Predictor ranked team (with an impressive Sagarin schedule strength ranking of #118) over a team with a Sagarin predictor rating of #88, seven places below that wacky, loveable football machine at TSUN.

A great statement, really.
