Fox Sports: Things you can count on in College Football this season

FCollinsBuckeye

Head Coach
Former Game Champion
  • Interesting read from Fox Sports: link

A few that jumped out at me:

If he hasn't already, Lee Corso will officially jump the shark with his antics this fall. It was fun for awhile, but am I the only person that's gotten really tired of his shtick? Kirk Herbstreit, meanwhile, will continue to be the most rock-solid, informative broadcaster in all of college football.

    :groove:

Brent Musburger will say "Beanie" at least 40 times during an Ohio State game, sending scores of college students playing a Musburger drinking game into a wicked state of inebriation on campuses across the country.

And 40% of the fan base will swear that every time Musburger says 'Beanie,' he is clearly doing so in a derisive tone, because, judging from the color of Brent's tie, it's evident he's 'out to get us' because he always was such a huge homer for <insert some other team here>.

    :wink2:

What idiot would think Musberger has an anti Ohio State bias?

    Dude LOVES the Buckeyes.

Now that Kirk Herbstreit character on the other hand....

    Another mention of the Buckeyes:

Just because they're light on returning starters does not mean Florida and Ohio State, last year's top two teams, will fall as far as some are suggesting. Both the Gators and Buckeyes are too well coached and recruit too well for that to happen. Instead, prepare for the next wave of mega stars that includes names like Chris Wells, Brandon Spikes, Louis Murphy, and Lawrence Wilson, to name a few.

My god if I have to read something about Florida in another tOSU article, I will throw up.

I mean, it's as if the whole world forgot that they got absolutely destroyed 62-24 by Nebraska's option around 10 years ago. Where was that Florida speed then?

Anyone remember who their defensive coordinator was that year...and who replaced him the following season?

I'll tell you what you can count on this year, the Buckeyes will be a helluva lot better than a mid-teens ranking by year-end. As for Musberger bias, he is anything but anti-Buckeye.

For those who bitch about Musberger and Keith Jackson, wait till you hear the mush mouths who will calling games on the BTN.

As for Florida... the best way to stop that crap is to win a few games against SEC teams. The Buckeye record against the SEC leads to the ration of shit we catch.

Another way might be to demand a major bowl game in Chicago... and please, don't even talk about Detroit's Dome or going to Minniesota. If the NFL can play in Soldier Field in January, then so can college teams and I'd love to catch the Bayou Tigers or the Tide in snow and falling temperatures.

Wow, have some kind of time travel that you know how the games were called already?

You've listened to the second team backfield for ESPN games, or the games that follow Musberger? That's a glimpse... like it or not there is a reason why Brent gets the call for The Game. He's better than the other options.

And please don't tell me to listen to Greg Lushutka or the other homer they put on the games with Paul Kael.
