Fox Sports 1 (at least its not ESPN)

For all the complaints people here have about ESPN, their production competency so far outshines Fox it's not funny. And their announcers, while you may think they have an anti-tOSU bias or are weak analytically, are much better able to speak intelligently (from grammatical and understandability standpoints) than the yokels that Fox has on board. Jim Jackson and Gus Johnson at Fox aside, of course; they're terrific.

Herbie is a well-spoken cliche machine. Palmer is an awkward, poorly executed clone of him.
Spiels is a treasure-trove of great insight with average delivery.
Blackledge is strong at both.
Millen is brutal at everything, as is Mowins, Ware, Huard, Stinchcomb.

There are 2 good announcing crews at ESPN.

Is enough for me to punch a baby.

So, two more than Fox has.

Other than Raftery, Jim Jackson and Gus Johnson, Fox has nothing in hoop. ESPN has some great talent there, including Jay Bilas, the best analyst IMO in any sport on any network. As I've said before, I'm more of a hoop fan than football anyhow, so that's an important consideration to me. (CBS has a great college basketball staff, too.)

Plus if the B10 contract went to Fox, ESPiN would probably be letting some of those people go... and Fox will be looking to hire some.
Not saying they'd be the same people, but there would be some new faces at Fox.
I expect the likes of Spiels and Galloway would be let go.

Any predictions on if FOX Sports can even handle a Big Ten football package, starting in 2017, on a sole basis.

I keep thinking about the inventory of 14 Big Ten schools for football (on a non-conference Saturday). Basketball would be no problem if split between FOX and CBS (current partner), because they can play on any day of the week (more/less).

But I keep thinking about 14 Big Ten games on one day and only having BTN, FOX, FOX Sports 1.

There are two overage channels for BTN. I guess the Big Ten could play on Thursdays to cover some as well. I don't think FSN is in play.

I would like to see us venture more into Friday games. Monday-Thursday pushes it, but I'm a fan of Friday night games. Teams that don't typically pull in big viewers can really shine on Friday nights. Midde-to-upper Big Ten teams like Nebraska, Wisky, Iowa, NW on Friday night Fox with big viewer numbers and commentators actually pushing our brand rather than leveraging against it. It could do a lot for both parties. On Saturdays I just watch Big Ten football with a few of other conferences 'big games'. I imagine people that live in other parts of the country don't watch big ten football unless it's a big game. But I'll watch anything that's on Friday night.

Fox+BTN has just as many, if not more channels as ESPN/ABC. Fox=ABC; FS1=ESPN; FS2=ESPN2; and BTN=ESPNU. If you're counting BTN as a supplement to the Fox and ESPN packages, then FSN=ESPNU.

Doesn't ESPN also have ESPNews, ESPN Classic, ESPN3, ESPN deportes, and ESPN (longhorn crap)?

I didn't know that ESPiNews & ESPiN Classic were still around. They aren't on my list of channels. ESPiN3 is great for small teams like the Juggalos. ESPiN Deportes? I don't speak German. ESPiN Tejas is good for the Longhorns but would we really want an FSN-Buckeyes? That seems to have pissed off some schools.

Just sayin': They all are still around: http://espn.go.com/espntv/onair/index . I used to watch ESPN Classic when I had WOW, since I switched to Warner I don't get it anymore either. ESPN Deportes is a Spanish-language (not German) sports channel for Hispanic sports fans in the United States. Yeah, I'd like FSN-Buckeyes; the schools that would be pissed off are already pissed off at Ohio State so what difference would it make? Wouldn't it be great if there was a FSN-Buckeyes and they televised some lesser sports (i.e. games/matches/events live) like tennis, rugby, track, swimming, volleyball, baseball, wrestling, etc.

Sarcasm is friend. Damn it! If we only had a font for that. I also understand what ESPiN- deportes is. I orefer the BTN to a FSN-Buckeyes especially if it went the way Longhorn Net went.
