FOX likely to go off the air on Time Warner Cable Dec. 31

I like watching football on rainy days though.
I think there was probably 1 day all year where this was a problem, and it was pretty brief.

In contrast, there would usually be 3-4 times a year where the Time Warner cable would go out and would be gone for 1-6 hours. DirecTV usually only goes out about 5-15 minutes.

They've done a lot of studies on downtime, and you get a lot more of it on average with cable.

1. Don't know about your town, but in Cincinnati TW was awarded an exclusive provider contract in 81 or 82 time frame and then won a law suit that forced Cincinnati Bell to allow TW to use their utility poles. In exchange TW was "forced" to provide several slots in their basic package to local groups --minority oriented broadcasting and city politics.

2. The TW survey that they kept sending to me offerred me two choices: pay higher fees, lose Fox. There was no chance to ask why only two, no chance to ask if the increased fees were gouging from the net, or a simple look at TW's profit margin.

3. When someone comes up with ala carte bundling I'll be ready to sign up.

4. When our roof collapsed and we were forced to move to a temporary apartment TW wanted to charge me full fare until our house was ready or an installation fee when we returned. When I said, "Fine, cut the service. I'll get a dish," their response suddenly became proactive.
