I saw this in Publisher's Weekly and am curious to know if this is the first (and only?) former NFL player to out himself. I don't remember hearing anything about this.

Definitely not the first player to out himself after playing, but the most recent one. I think the Real Sports episode mentioned other former players that had come out. I think most of them had played in the 60s or so.

OK, thanks. Just wondering. We hear about "when the first NFL player comes out...", but it sounds like all of them have come out after retiring.

It's a Howard Stern reference. I'll try to keep it from being too disgusting mostly b/c I just ate and don't want to barf.
