This team coming to Ohio to take on Upper Arlington is stacked and certainly worthy of their #1 ranking...just looking at the Scout database:

OL Jermaine Barton - offers from Purdue, Wisconsin, UConn, Mississippi State, Maryland

QB Turner Baty - has an offer from Stanford but heavy interest from Tennessee and Florida

RB Gio Bernard - offers from the big 3 FL schools, the rest of the SEC and Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Nebraska

DB Lamarcus Joyner - 6-star...nothing more need be said

OL Brandon Linder - final four of Miami (FL), Ohio State, Florida and ND (all offered)

LB Vinnie Mauro - favors Vandy and Navy over offers from Wisconsin, FIU, Marshall and Rutgers

K Michael Palardy - committed to Tennessee over offers from Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Miami (FL)

DB Keion Payne - top five of Miami, FSU, Ohio State, Florida and Tennessee (all offered)

DB Cody Riggs - favors Florida over Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee and Notre Dame (all offered)

DB Brian Robinson - has offers from the likes of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and WVU

DT Matt Stokes - has an offer from Arkansas

RB James White - has offers from the likes of BC, Clemson, Iowa, Michigan State, Rutgers and Wisconsin

WR - Rashad Greene (2011) - could be one of the better WRs in the state when they are ranked next year

You're talking about a defensive secondary where all four starters have offers from the Florida Gators...

Here is Rivals preview of this year's STA team...

It was announced officially today that two of the top high school programs in the country will square off Oct. 2 on ESPNU when top-ranked Saint Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) plays host to James F. Byrnes (Duncan, S.C.).

The game, which has been rumored for months, will feature two teams loaded with Division I talent.

"Tell (everyone) to get ready," Joyner said.

Just out of curiosity, what D-I players are playing for James F. Byrnes (Duncan, S.C.)?

From the article:

Byrnes features five-star running back Marcus Lattimore and fellow ESPNU150 prospects Brandon Willis and Corey Miller, both defensive linemen. Quarterback Chas Dodd, a Rutgers commit, and receivers Nick Jones, Torian Richardson and Jazz King all are Division I prospects.

Giovanni Bernard was being held out of practice today. I was told it was a hamstring problem, nothing serious, just percautionary, and probably would have played if it was game day.

Lamarcus Joyner has moved over to defense this week to learn the defense a little better. Joyner will probably see time on both sides of the ball, but mainly offense this fall.

Reports are that 2011 WR Transfer from Georgia Rashad Greene has been pretty impressive in practice so far. I will have more on Greene later.

2012 DE Jelani Hamilton looks to have continued his successful spring to the fall as he will be a starter this fall. Very impressive feat for a sophomore on such a talented senior-laden defense

Not a follower of OHSAA football anymore, but where is UA talent-wise in comparison to the rest of the city/state?

I fixed it for you SIMV :wink2:

St Thomas looks absolutely dominant. Curious if its just how good they are, or if UA is not a good team.
