I thought one of the big disappointments in the NCS game was offensive line play. I want to see major improvement, there.
It actually looked to me like certain players got fat!
Is that possible?

One tackle was specifically pointed out as being "out of shape" for that game...he was also pointed out as having dropped nearly 20 pounds since, along with significant strength and speed improvements.

The article in question was a GREAT read. I really hope it pays off on the field. Tressel has made quite a few hires that many might have questioned early but they always seem to pan out.

Small Seaway Valley company winning over sports world with unique workout, rehab aids

Steve Kingsbury is a man in growing demand these days.
So it's no surprise when he excuses himself to take yet another call. He returns to the conversation less than a minute later, the tone of excitement in his voice having risen another notch.
"That was the Florida Gators calling," says the personal trainer from Cornwall.
As in the U.S. college football national champion Florida Gators -- on the phone to a small company in the Seaway Valley that's on the cutting edge of something big in the fitness world, a place where the next big thing never seems too far around the corner.
With each passing day, Kingsbury's invention is causing a frenzy that has reached out to many rather large touchpoints across North America. And like the proverbial snowball, the momentum continues to build.

The Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts have them.
So do the Tennessee Titans and Philadelphia Eagles and the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Philadelphia Flyers and college football powerhouses Florida, Ohio State, Texas and Penn State.

Strength coach focuses Buckeyes
Winter conditioning emphasizes team unity

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

After losing one college football national championship game, the "Remember the Alamo!" motivation for offseason workouts was obvious.

But after losing two in a row like Ohio State has, it might have been understandable if the theme song during the recent winter workouts was "Hang down your head, Tom Dooley. Hang down your head and cry."

But it wasn't, linebacker James Laurinaitis said, because of the players' pride and work ethic and because of the leadership of the director of performance, Eric Lichter, and his staff.

"You've just got to keep on keepin' on, as (former OSU linebacker) Anthony Schlegel used to say to us all the time," Laurinaitis said. "When you lose, you're obviously going to be down about it. But if you sit there and cry about it, that puts you behind for next season."

Lichter had no intention of letting the Buckeyes sit and cry.

"Coach Lichter is a passionate individual, and he's smart; he's educated in what he does," Laurinaitis said. "And when he comes in every day, he's trying to push you to do the best you can do."
