I’m not sure this is a Peter Principle issue as much as desperation maneuver… He got caught with Hafely leaving and didn’t have his list and went with what he knew but had to dangle the DC position to get himYeap. The Peter Principle strikes again.

Coordinators are by far the #1 thing holding Ohio State back over the past decade. Bad DC situation in ‘13 equals bowl game embarrassment.I'm just speaking strictly of Coombs as a candidate. Not Day's situation.

This happens a ton all over the sporting landscape. Saban's ability to either not get sucked into one, or be able to mitigate a bad hire behind the scenes... may be the #1 cause for Bama's continued success.
