Former Browns Fan Needs Help!

After Art moved the team, I was looking forward to a new beginning in 1999. However, after a series of bad draft choices (I'm not talking about marginal talents Tim Couch, Courtney Brown, and Gerard Warren; I mean really awful choices like Rahim Abdullah in the second round of the horrible 1999 draft, which produced only three legit NFL talents, not one of whom is even close to be a star in the League); a revolving door of players, coaches, and front office personnel; and a lack of talent AND personality on a team which traditionally had both in spades; I am done with the Browns after over 30 years. Butch and KW-II have finally put me over the edge, and I simply cannot root for that team anymore.

My question is this: Who should I root for? Please give me an argument for your favorite team, so that I can once again have something to do on Sundays.

Bengals baby-best young coach in the league, and the kind of offense that Super Bowl champs are made of-a superstar WR-Chad, a stud RB-Rudi, and a potential star QB-we shall see about Carson, plus an absolutely monstrous OL-finally. A few tweaks on D,a nd the Bengals should be Super Bowl contenders in a year or two. I can't believe I am seriously writing this! Marvin Lewis= Tressel w/ a tan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gotta stay loyal or just become a fair weather fan following whatever team of the moment. One benefit of being a long time Browns fan, you should be used to following a team that always disappoints. Hey, if the Bucks can win a NC in my lifetime I have to believe the Browns can win a Super Bowl.

Well, I'm not turning my back on the Browns. KWII makes it tough, but if he keeps getting schooled like he did the other night I might still get a bit of entertainment out of them. However, since Doss went to Indy I've taken a real interest in them.

If I were interested in changing teams, and I'm not, I'd pick the Colts. Tony Dungy is a class act and I like a bunch of their players(Doss, Hartsock, Freeney, Harrison, Manning, etc.)

hey your right. doss and hartsock (duh), freeney & harrison (i like cuse bball), and manning is the best qb in the game. so when the raiders trade their draft pics for winslow.....im goin out to buy my colts jersey.

you've gotta stick w/ it through thick and thin like milli said. It will get better at some point, look at the bengals formerly known as the bungals and the league's most undesireable team. Eventually it did work out for them and now their fans have lots to be excited about. I know it's not easy, I'm a Brown's fan myself, but good things will come with time.

Give the best pro team in ohio some love baby.. the bengals have been down forever and now its time to get some sweet sweet revenge.. lewis is gonna have this team in the superbowl in a couple more years.. johnson, warrick, and washington at reciever for carson palmer and rudi is just a beast in the backfield.. the defense isnt terrible but wont get us there this year but could put us in the playoffs.. but defense was his specialty so im sure he'll have them where they need to be soon.. GO BENGALS!!!

Give the best pro team in ohio some love baby.. the bengals

here is a comparison of the bengals vs the browns yearly/overall record since the browns came back as an expansion team...

Bengals
2003 8-8
2002 2-14
2001 6-10
2000 4-12
1999 4-12

Total: 24-56

Browns
2003 5-11
2002 9-7 *playoffs*
2001 7-9
2000 3-13
1999 2-14

Total: 26-54
so following the browns since their expansion rebirth five years ago they actually have a better record then "the best pro team in ohio" cincy. Pretty sad.
. . .
If you go straight from cheering for the browns to cheering for the bengals or any other team in the afc north (steelers, ravens) ...well thats just not right. I too am a browns fan and am not happy with the current state of the team but will still root for them and hope better days (coaches/players/attitudes) will be here soon. I also have taken an interest in the colts since doss joined the team. They are an exciting team to watch and its hard to root against a team with doss leading the D.

Don't jump ship bro...

Yeah... Don't jump ship...

On KWII-

1. This is now 'Professional' Football... these guys don't get paid ot be 'cool'... he does still need some attitude adjustment on how to deal with the fans.. but other than that.. who cares if he runs his mouth.. if he's good his teammated won't care.

2. Yeah-- He went to Cryami... yeah he was a jerk off there... big deal. I was talking to a pal of mine who went to OU (I know, much different scale)... well we were actually at the Browns/Ravens game... and the prospect of the Browns drafting KWII came up (We all know how Bucthems thinks) and his response was... "who cares if he's good... hell my school has one player in the NFL... we're playing against him today (Zaskudil)... and I hope he breaks his effing knee" While, I don't ever wish a Buckeye, or anyone else for that matter, breaks his knee... As much as I loved Eddie... and I kind of Adopted the Titans while the Browns were... "away"... when the Browns played the Titans... he was the enemy.

On Butch'ems

1. Well... there are no more excuses... He runs the whole show... if he can't win with the guys he's got... theres no one else to blame... and Butchems will be gone... period.
