Forgive me for I have sinned. Like a good Catholic boy I need to ask forgiveness from the board. I went over to Bucknuts and tried to have a conversation filled with substance and intelligence and forgot, that it can not be had there. This whole Troy smith ordeal has really gotten to me and I tried expressing my opinion as that, and forgot how many unintelligent, immature posters there are over there. I should have came over here to express my thoughts, and for that I am sorry. I beg for the boards forgiveness and am offering 30 holy buckeyes up for forgiveness. I will go back to my room, until summoned. Thank you.

Don't bash Bucknuts

I know there is "friendly" competition between BN and BP, but I, like many posters visit both sites.

To use a software analogy, BP is like Linux. Non-commericial but professional in every way. I think it is amazing how good BP has become, especially considering the time/financial constraints. Like an open source code, individuals have pitched in to make this a truly great site. Mili's Video clips, V-bets, recruiting needs, blogs...whodathunkit!!! My hats off to all those who have made this site what it is, even if it is a blog or a contribution to buying a server.

BN is the mega-commercial site ala Microsoft. Not necessarily better, (in some cases more buggy) but everyone uses it. Affiliations with Sout, Ruzinski, magazine, weekly radio broadcasts, etc. make BN a high-profile, "for profit" site for us OSU junkies. Because of the Scout network, they are going to attract more idiotic posts.

Be happy we have both. Oh yeah, I forgot O-zone!

Not to be the anal thread neat freak, but maybe this thread should be moved? If not to the trash, at least to the open discussion.

As far as BN goes, I don't have any reason to go over there. Nothing against them, I just don't need to spend that much time online with this stuff (oops, different thread). Basically, anything interesting over there gets talked about here, so why bother? BP rules!

We were just poking some fun. I appreciate some of their content, particularly the bball stuff. But it ticks me off when they create news when there is nothing there, or they stick microphones in the faces of recruits unceasingly (seen it firsthand from the field; were I a player I would bring along my own tape recorder and shove it right back in his face everytime he tries to walk somewhere).

Listen Folanator- I haven't had a problem with you yet, but I'm starting to have one. The idiots are the people who think everything is just peachy because Smith didn't get in trouble with the NCAA. Things aren't just peachy, he has continued to show bad decision making, and that effects the team, the season, and the University. Again I repeat it's not that he skipped class, it's that he broke another team rule on the heels of a major offense while still on probation. It just shows very bad judgement and leadership qualities, two key ingredients in being a successful Q.B. He also put O.S.U. back in the headlines in a negative way. I'm sick of that, even if ESPN is "out to get us," they wouldn't have anything to report if we didn't keep giving them ammo. That's my problem with it. My problem with the board's over there are, that their are a bunch adolescent immature people over there, unable to have an intelligent conversation. You can have disagreement's, but you get a all knowing supremacy group over there. I love the site, but the board themselves have problems.

Hey 57, you need to chill a bit and listen. Just read the content of BP pages and you'll realize why most of us don't go to BN. We don't need to go there. We don't need to pay for what we get here and contribute financially to create on our own.

I have nothing against you. I don't think everyone over on BN is unable to hold an intelligent conversation. I don't know if you guys are continuing a conversation from BN, but I know Folantor's posts and he doesn't need anyone here to back up his rep over here. He doesn't talk nonsense and he's not a gunslinger.

Your post is indicative of why we don't go to BN. You pick a fight with Folantor as if he is arguing with you about Smith. He's not.

He's telling you that we don't engage in this kind of idle chatter and name calling. We don't rise to the challenge of other Buckeye sites or feel challenged by them. We just get on with creating a fun place to be where we can disagree without personalizing things and where everyone is respected, even if we don't share their opinions.

So, by all means, contribute. We want a community of shared opinion here. Share objective facts and reasoned opinions with us and you will find ready acceptance, even friendship, with people you will never meet.

But if you want space to run down Ohio State players or coaches or to rally support by running down other sites (and I'm not saying that is your objective), then Folantor is dead on when telling you that BP is not going to be the place you want to place those posts and people will call you on it when you do.

The bash BN stuff is old news...and not wanted around here.

Many of us coexist on both sites...and I appreciate the work of many of the insiders over there. I have had some good conversations with Biddle, Duane, BillG, and Steve.

We do not need to bash that site, the posters over there, or the way they conduct their business because BP has moved on and formed its own identity that is well above the ridiculous blame game.

And many of us are throwing stones from glass houses...BP has its faults also.

I'm going to lock this one down and let it sink into the abyss...

If anyone has an issue with this lockdown, feel free to PM me.
