Head Coach
If West Virginia were to win out, it is unlikely, but possible OSU could still overtake them in the BCS standings. For that happen, almost every game matters in some minor way. I have pulled this weeks games based on OSU's and West Virginia's schedule.

Rooting For:
Akron against Central Michigan. Central Michigan is 5-1 in the Mac, Akron is 3-4. This may seem like a minor game, but a win for Akron strengthens OSU's schedule

Washington against Washington St. Washington is 2-6 in the PAC 10 and so is Washington St. As bad as Washington has played this year, they have an opportunity to finish the year strong. They still can beat Hawaii as well. A win over Washington St. and Hawaii would help OSU's strength of schedule considerably

Kent St. against Buffalo. Kent St. is having an awful year in the MAC (1-6) and playing Buffalo (4-3) in the MAC. Should still pull for Kent St. to come through and help another Ohio institution.

Temple against Western Michigan. West Virginia beat down Western Michigan in their first game of the year. A loss still hurts their strength of schedule.

Tulane against East Carolina. East Carolina was a WVU opponent.

NC State against Maryland. Again, Maryland was an WVU opponent

UAB against Marshall. WVU won a fairly close one against Marshall who is (2-5) in the MAC

Ole Miss against Mississippi St. - WVU put it on Miss St.

it would look worse, but won't effect computer rankings b/c USF plays a team WVU beat. I could be wrong, but I don't believe the BCS takes into consideration who you lost too. It could sway public opinion in the Harris Poll I guess, but at this point I'm more concerned about the computers.

Also

Rooting for:
USC over Arizona State: Don't want to risk Arizona St. hopping us in the rankings for a win.

Arkansas over LSU: Obvious.

Georgia over GTech: I want Georgia to play LSU in the championship game. I think the Bulldogs have the best chance to knock off the Tigers.

UConn over WVU: This is the big one. This upset will SERIOUSLY boost our chances to get in that NC game.

Mizzouri OR Kansas: It doesn't matter, the winner of this one is going to be blasted by the Sooners. I think we ought to root for Kansas, cuz I think Oklahoma can easily take out Kansas.

A win over GT doesn't really matter unless you think it'd be a confidence booster or something.

A Kentucky win sends UGA to the SEC CG so root for them too.

First things first - Georgia beating or not beating Georgia Tech has absolutely no bearing on who gets into the SEC championship game.....

Secondly, if all the other teams you listed end up losing (meaning Kansas, Mizzou, LSU and WVU all lose) then if Arizona State wins, we get an Ohio State - Arizona State championship game. Sounds like fun to me

Just a few comments regarding the points:

I definitely see UW over WSU. Rankin is the key to whether UW beats Hawaii or not.

Slim chance, IMO.

Never, ever, EVER bet on Temple.

I think this outcome in relation to West Virginia was as bad as it could have been. Obviously the good news is, is that LSU lost and now all we need is an Oklahoma win next week. I was hoping OSU could somehow jump WVU in the scenario that Kansas/Missouri beats Oklahoma, but it does not appear possible at this point.

Thus far today and yesterday, every OOC opponent WVU played has won and every OOC team OSU played has lost. We certainly haven't gotten any help from our MAC friends. I was hoping some teams could help our strength of schedule and some teams could fall on their faces for WVU but the opposite happened.

There isn't any way we overtake WVU in the computer rankings IMO.

Go Sooners

Go Pitt Panthers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fuck Oklahoma. I hate those bastards. I'd rather see us play in the Rose Bowl than EVER root for those mutherfuckers.

I'll tell'ya who needs to "root" for Oklahoma is whatever network has the BCS Championship Game. Can you imagine the interest nationally in a West Virgina (remember the NIT Jerseys) vs. Missouri matchup? Jesus Christ! "Green Acres" re-runs on Nick At Nite will kick this games ass in the ratings. And the sad thing is that those sorry-ass hillbillies in West Virginia will be the one's tuned in to "Nick" because they love Mr. Haney and bacause Arnold reminds them of one of their own.

A Buckeye appearance in this game puts many millions more in front of the TV set. The entire Buckeye nation rooting for the Bucks, and a huge national throng that will tune in simply to root against us.

Go Buckeyes!!!!!!
Go Panthers!!!!
Lose Missouri!!!

Peace.

Seriously, you would rather the Buckeyes not have a shot at the NC than root for the Sooners? Get your priorities right.

I guaranfuckingtee everyone who stands to make a nickel off the NC game from the network down to the vendors are pulling like hell for us to be there instead of a WVU vs Mizzou matchup.

They are making Pat White and Chase Daniel vodoo dolls in New Orleans as we speak. The locals have already been through Katrina, they don't need Mountainqueer Nation descending on them like a plauge of toothless locusts.

We had a shot at the NC and lost. I'll be rooting for Pitt to win. If Missouri happens to lose, that's fine also. But to sit in front of a TV and "root" for Oklahoma just ain't gonna happen.

Peace.
