Very sad news from England today, as Bury FC, founded 134 years ago and twice winners of the FA Cup, have gone from promoted to League One last year to being expelled and dissolved. Bolton Wanderers, a more famous club who played in the EPL as recently as 2011-12 and were founding members of the football league, have 14 days to avoid a similar fate. This also happened to Portsmouth at the end of the 2012-13 season, but supporters raised enough money to keep the club solvent.

In this day and age of clubs throwing 100 million or more at a transfer, it’s just sad that smaller clubs with that kind of history can’t survive.

Bolton appears to have been sold. (And as such saved...)

Apparently they got a 12 point penalty for entering administration so are in last place in league 1 with -11 points if I read that right
Yes, which means they’ll likely play in League 2 next year, which is a precipitous fall like Pompey took, but at least they’re still alive.

Normally I would agree... except in the case of Rangers FC. Hahahahahahaha.

Sevco took the L again this weekend and I couldn’t be happier about it.

Fucking hell, Nottingham Forest was up 3 points and 5 goals in the tiebreaker for the last playoff spot going into the final game. Swans wins 4-1, and Forest manages to give up 3 in the last 18 minutes...including an own goal in stoppage time...to lose 4-1 and drop out of the playoffs on goal differential by 1
