Wigan break the ice in extra time to win the FA Cup, just as they're about to be relegated in the EPL.

Well, they're not down and out in the league yet and they are well known for pulling the rabbit out of the hat to stay up.

Even if that is how it plays out, while I'm sure the club's board would rather be on board for Premier League money, many of their supporters probably would take a trophy over staying up if they had to choose.

Congrats to Wigan.

Winning the FA Cup is no small feat - first time Wigan have done it. It's just a bit remarkable they can pull that off and not be doing a bit better in the EPL.

Ex-LA Galaxy star David Beckham officially announces his retirement after 20-year soccer career

This time it's for real.

For the last few years the rumors have constantly swirled about potential David Beckham retirement announcements and on Thursday it finally happened. The 38-year-old former LA Galaxy star, who played six seasons in MLS, is hanging them up. For good.

"I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level," he said. "If you had told me as a young boy I would have played for and won trophies with my boyhood club Manchester United, proudly captained and played for my country over 100 times and lined up for some of the biggest clubs in the world, I would have told you it was a fantasy."

Neymar signs 5-year contract with Barcelona - ESPN FC

Well now that the whole saga is over with, I'll be curious to see if he was worth all of the hype after all. Final fee was actually much larger than initially thought as ruthless Real Madrid drove the price up considerably with there final bid. Barcelona will pay end up paying Santos $74 million over the next three years, although they've already given them $13 million.

Looks like we've got the second coming of Roman Abramovich at AS Monaco. Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev has already brought in Ricardo Carvalho (Can't have much left in the tank at 35), James Rodriguez, Joao Moutinho & Radamel Falco this summer. Seeing as how they just got promoted back to Ligue 1 in France, I'll temper expectations until I see it actually work out. Still curious to see a club with the spending power to be able to compete with PSG in France. Who knows if it will last though.
