Florida State Seminoles (official thread)

I agree. Now do the Heisman voting. 8D

ok.

against ranked opponents (AP).
Jayden Daniels averaged 423.5 total yards per game
Penix Averaged 288.5
Bo Nix Averaged 352.3

against all opponents Daniels was nearly 100 yards per game better than his next closest competitor.
Daniels also broke the FBS record for highest passer rating in a season.

no, I want consistency.
if what ever thought process to you Michigan at #1 is the one we're using, then use it across the board. What ever it is.
Don't get to #3 and suddenly say "wait, let's do it this way instead"

Don't also say "well with a backup QB, FSU just isn't going to win any of these games", but then rank them above UGA.

it's all complete bullshit.
but prior to this year, they would attempt to hide their manipulation and make it look like the games already played mattered in some way.

Frustration comes when expectations don't meet reality. You expect consistency and they never promised that. They are going to use any number of different guidelines to pick the four they want in any given year.

you honestly think they the only school cheating?

they might be the only team using that particular method of cheating, but there is no way they're the only ones not skirting some rules
They're the only team blatantly and stupidly CHEATING. There's a difference between CHEATING and skirting some rules. Every team skirts rules, but there's a reason nobody has ever sent a guy to film opponents to sync up their calls with all 22 footage. Because it's easily catchable, and gives an obscene advantage. The way schools navigate NIL is against rules. I'm sure the coaches who aren't allowed to be giving instruction to players are 1000% doing that. But this is basically fixing games. This is beyond that other stuff.

I'm not exactly sure what behavior is being referenced, but we're talking about a guy who covers a league that contains a team located in College Station that has surely moved the "unprecedented" meter. It must be rare behavior, indeed. I wonder if they got super fucker over or something recently?

Aggy been drinking from the Jizz Jar for over 100 years, so it's not really all that unprecedented any more

If you want to be in the playoff game, then schedule some OOC opponents worth something. No top 10 teams. One top 15 team. Two top 40 teams in the power ratings. Their quality win in 3-loss LSU followed by 3-lost Louisville followed by 4-loss Clemson. Only 5 teams on their schedule have a winning record.

Ohio State was left out, in part, because of schedule strength. Herbstreit said that they "played a very weak schedule". Two top 10, three top 15 and 4 top 40 teams.

Undefeated? Play somebody.

They scheduled 2 good OOC opponents imo.
Can't know how LSU will perform, and UF is a strong outside rival.
If LSU had played Iowa instead, they would probably be a 2 loss team in the top 10.
Of course we could make a similar argument about ND.

I just can't ding them for scheduling.
Im here for the schadenfreude, especially if Saban delivers where Day couldn't.

Show me another team historically smashing the spread like that.
It's to the point they manipulated other games, arranging for Tennessee to lose to SC.
This isnt deflategate or a few ineligible players. It's so effective, you could have easily won millions in vegas if you knew about it.

I just looked it up.
going into The Game, the Skunk Bears were 5-5-1 against the spread and tOSU was 6-2-2

It's so effective, you could have easily won millions in vegas if you knew about it.

betting on Ohio State to cover was a safer bet this year than betting on Meatshitsgan to cover.

sure they cheat. absolutely they did. no denying that.

but do you honestly think Alabama providing an entire roster of 5* players with Dodge Chargers for years before NIL was even a thing, wasn't a ridiculously huge contributor to them being as dominant as they were over the last 15 years or so?

Hell Ed Orgeron just proved a few years ago that with enough talent, you can have an IQ somewhere around the average low temps of Anarctica and still win a title.
