Florida State Seminoles (official thread)

Are you purposely being obtuse about this? Lloyd Carr won an NC in 1997. Was scUM a national title contender in his last year?

It was blatantly obvious that the program was spiraling out of control during his last years. I don't know why you're painting a picture that he still had them in title contention on par with Clemson before he left

I really wouldn't call going from 14-0 to a couple 10 wins seasons "spiraling out of control". After going 14-0 and winning the National Championship, he went:

2014: 13-1, finished #6 and #5 in the polls
2015: 10-3, finished #14 in both polls
2016: 10-3, finished #8 in both polls
2017: 5-6, (the team finished 7-6, Fisher might of had a winning record in 2017 too, had he finished the season at Florida State)

And people wonder what happened to FSU

it was never sustainable

Bowden could have worked to make it so but didn’t

Northwestern has a competitive indoor facility

FSU has a drawing of one

Even when this facility is complete they’ll still have a long way to go to catch up with the Joneses. It is very unlikely that they’ll ever catch the Ohio States of the world

Sounds like you're describing Miami too... Not sustainable, living in the past and just now getting facilities that other top programs already have.
