Florida State Seminoles (official thread)

Technically, Florida State shouldn’t be playing in a bowl game this year

For an FCS opponent to be countable towards bowl eligibility, the FCS program must have awarded at least 90% of the FCS scholarship limit. After our own investigation, we have determined and confirmed that Delaware State has not met the 90% threshold set by the NCAA. As a result, Florida State’s bowl countable record is 5-6, thus making them ineligible for a bowl game this season.

Wonder if the bowl eligible teams that got picked over will sue NCAA 8D:popcorn:

Evidently there were only 3 other candidates, one which also played Delaware State, making them ineligible, one of the others has the same issue with another FCS opponent, and UTSA is the one remaining school that legitimately has a gripe (would have been 5-5 had their FCS opponent also fallen below the 90% threshold).

Funny how it could have been avoided if these Power 5 schools manned up and stopped playing FCS schools. It’s also funny how Big Ten schools are held to a standard of having strong non-conference opponents, while the SEC and ACC get away with this non sense and the committee doesn’t think twice about considering teams who play FCS teams.

Could it be that the record of playing and beating Big Ten teams in bowl games - almost all of which are played in a location and environment supportive of southern teams - creates the notion that Big Ten teams have more to prove? Just sayin'...

Who would ever have guessed it: The Tallahassee police clears the starting QB at Free Shoes of all charges concerning violence against a female.....

I'm sure Willie Taggart also "runs a tight ship" there too, and now Taggart won't have to have the baseball team (even if he doesn't play basball) suspend him a couple games for punishment......
