I hear that both UGA and UF are a lot more selective with in-state applicants now compared to the 1990s and before.

It is very difficult to get into UF these days. Acceptance rate is about 30%. For comparison OSU is about 70%. I’ve got friends with kids that are straight A students that don’t get into UF. They are dumbfounded.
This of course says nothing of the fans. Gator fans are insufferable.

Ohio State's was about 57% most recently. It was under 50% pre-covid. Just fyi

Yes. I know of several top 20 ranked kids from good suburban Columbus schools who were turned down at OSU Main Campus.
They are going to UC, UK, UTenn
