The alligator was found near Forest Hill Blvd and the Florida Turnpike... near a house , Game Wardens were forced to shoot the alligator- guess he wouldn't cooperate. Jayne and Don Hobkirk could hear the bellowing in the night. Their neighbors had been telling them that they had seen a mammoth alligator in the Lake that runs behind their house, but they dismissed the stories as being exaggerations.

"I didn't believe it, this baby was huge!" Don Hobkirk said. Friday they realized the stories were, if anything, understated. Florida Game and Parks game wardens had to shoot the beast...

Joe Goff, 6' 5" tall, a game warden with the Florida Game and Parks Commission, walks past the 23-foot, one inch alligator that he shot and killed in the back yard of Jayne & Don Hobkirk...

Heh - He was probably telling them to kiss his ass, in GatorSpeak!

As you can see, they didn't appreciate that much - of course, they had guns and he had... um...big nails...

Just like a dumb gator - show up to a gunfight with a knife...
Speaking of outgunned dumb gators, that reminds me, who's betting on the Gators on Saturday?

Nah. Not true. Biggest Gator in Florida is like 17 feet. Biggest in Louisiana is about 19 feet. A 23 feet beast would be salt water croc big.

Perspective is from a shot close to the Gator with the cop walking in the background.

I used to work at a tourist trap/gator farm in high school in Vero Beach - "McKee Jungle Gardens". Our big old gator was 20 years old and he was nowhere near that size. Plus, if he was that large it would have made the news as a world record.

Excuse the political ad (Tis the Season) but after the first 25 seconds this video shows drunken awkward white dude dancing, a fight and Dawg on Dawg violence and everything you've come to love and expect from drunken southern idiots. I'd wager this video was recorded around 9:00pm since they're still able to move freely throughout the crowd. It usually gets much more crowded later in the evening. Is my guess pretty close Gator?

Thanks Woof - sounds like it was a barn burner of a game. OT??!!! I was with my scouts camping and did not get to see or hear it live. That is yet another "get in your head" loss. Are the natives turning on Richt with a "if not now when they suck, when?" thing?


Yeah, the pre-party Landing shots were like you said. My favorite memory of TWLOCP is seeing two guys carrying their passed out friend into the game (he had a ticket) and telling the usher it was because "he might wake up before the game ends.." :lol:
