I am told that the Poodles called a time out to ice Chaz Henry before his winning FG attempt, and that after time out was called Henry blew a kiss at the Mutt sideline.

I am also informed that this is the reason why. :slappy:

Yet another legend to add to the [strike]hate[/strike] WLOCP. :p

What we learned in the SEC: Week 9

5. Florida owns Georgia: There?s no other way to say it. The Gators have won 18 of the past 21 meetings after prevailing 34-31 in overtime on Saturday in Jacksonville. Georgia was the hot team coming into the game. Florida was reeling after losing three in a row. The Gators were having all sorts of problems offensively, and the Bulldogs seemed to be finding themselves. Well, that all changed when it mattered for four hours on Saturday. Florida quarterback John Brantley and his mates were the ones delivering in the clutch, and the Gators showed a lot of pride as a program in holding the Bulldogs off and remaining alive in the East race. Florida coach Urban Meyer is now 17-1 against the Gators? traditional rivals (Georgia, Florida State, Miami and Tennessee). Richt, meanwhile, is just 2-8 against the Gators, who probably should have been paying taxes in the state of Georgia a long time ago with the way they?ve dominated this rivalry.

ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia coach Mark Richt said Tuesday assistant Todd
Grantham was caught up in the emotions of an overtime game when he
gave a choke sign to Florida kicker Chas Henry.

A television snapshot from Sun Sports in Florida shows Grantham,
Georgia's defensive coordinator, with one hand on his throat as Henry
lined up for his winning field goal in the Gators' 34-31 win on Saturday.
Replays show Grantham making the choke sign four times during a
Georgia timeout before Henry's 37-yard kick.

Florida senior guard Carl Johnson confirmed Florida players were told not
to talk about Grantham on Tuesday. Johnson couldn't resist.
"I mean, hey, he did it and we kicked a field goal, so he needs to do it
every time we play against them, I guess," Johnson said.

This is what happens when people who don't follow the rivalry get involved and voice their opinion.

As an alumnus and fan - I regret that the entire bench wasn't rooting for him to "fucking choke" If they had the means of yelling at him from the bench and have it be a distraction, I would have hoped they used it.

Don't believe me? Here's a quote from the kid who won the game!

?I think it?s ridiculous what people are trying to say that [Todd Grantham] should have to apologize for it or be fined or anything. He?s a great coach. I look at his record. It?s just an intense game.? -- Chas Henry, Palm Beach Post, 11/4/10

This is truly an outstanding example of "not sorry I did it, sorry I got caught." I hope Grantham does it again against Auburn and Tech this year. I hope he does it against UT and UF next year.

You know what I love about Georgia? Their fight song is "Glory, Glory Hallelujah" the same song used to inspire the United States Army to victory over the Confederacy in the War Between the States (1861-1865). It is absolutely HUGE that the Bulldogs were big enough to admit defeat and take that on as a tribute to the United States military. Especially after what happened with Sherman and all.

Abso-fucking-lutely. Vince Dooley called time out with seconds left - leading 48-0 to let his center, who had not kicked since high school, make it 51-0.

And the only problem I have with that is that we could not match that pain by giving it to you this year. The Mutt coach did not do something odd. Stevie put half a hundred on the Mutts just because it had never been done 'tween the hedges. Your entire squad danced your mangy poodle butts off when God took a nap and you scored on us first in 08 - then won. Urban using all of his time outs the next year with ten seconds left - just so we could extend your pain a little longer and let us enjoy it.

That is why I love the Cocktail Party. No limitation of sportsmanship to be had one game a year, and none expected in return. If we led 140-0 with ten seconds left I want to call for a deep fly pattern, kick the extra point and
then go for the on-side kick and repeat.

Bad form Urban. You should have had your dick out waiving it at them too.

I blame Richt for not emulating him. Pussy. :shake:

I hope you pricks never win a Cocktail Party again till I die a death at a ripe old age.
