5. Florida owns Georgia: There?s no other way to say it. The Gators have won 18 of the past 21 meetings after prevailing 34-31 in overtime on Saturday in Jacksonville. Georgia was the hot team coming into the game. Florida was reeling after losing three in a row. The Gators were having all sorts of problems offensively, and the Bulldogs seemed to be finding themselves. Well, that all changed when it mattered for four hours on Saturday. Florida quarterback John Brantley and his mates were the ones delivering in the clutch, and the Gators showed a lot of pride as a program in holding the Bulldogs off and remaining alive in the East race. Florida coach Urban Meyer is now 17-1 against the Gators? traditional rivals (Georgia, Florida State, Miami and Tennessee). Richt, meanwhile, is just 2-8 against the Gators, who probably should have been paying taxes in the state of Georgia a long time ago with the way they?ve dominated this rivalry.
ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia coach Mark Richt said Tuesday assistant Todd
Grantham was caught up in the emotions of an overtime game when he
gave a choke sign to Florida kicker Chas Henry.
A television snapshot from Sun Sports in Florida shows Grantham,
Georgia's defensive coordinator, with one hand on his throat as Henry
lined up for his winning field goal in the Gators' 34-31 win on Saturday.
Replays show Grantham making the choke sign four times during a
Georgia timeout before Henry's 37-yard kick.
Florida senior guard Carl Johnson confirmed Florida players were told not
to talk about Grantham on Tuesday. Johnson couldn't resist.
"I mean, hey, he did it and we kicked a field goal, so he needs to do it
every time we play against them, I guess," Johnson said.
?I think it?s ridiculous what people are trying to say that [Todd Grantham] should have to apologize for it or be fined or anything. He?s a great coach. I look at his record. It?s just an intense game.? -- Chas Henry, Palm Beach Post, 11/4/10

Their fight song is "Glory, Glory Hallelujah" the same song used to inspire the United States Army to victory over the Confederacy in the War Between the States (1861-1865). It is absolutely HUGE that the Bulldogs were big enough to admit defeat and take that on as a tribute to the United States military. Especially after what happened with Sherman and all.
