Florida 13, LSU 3 (Final)

Just now getting back from the game, a few thoughts:

LSU is nowhere near the #4 team in the country. When the opposing team rushes 3 all night and keeps continuous pressure on your QB, things are not well. (even if the other team has the #1 defense in the country)

Jordan Jefferson still needs much more experience. Even when he has time, he's holding on to the ball entirely too long.

LSU needs to [censored]can the option, they're horrible at it.

Penalties killed us. Stop them for a 1-2yd gain on first down, only to jump offsides and give them 2nd and short. Sitting in the stands, it seemed like we were called for a lot of dumb flags tonight, don't know the actual numbers.

On the positive side, the defense looked solid. Although, I think if Florida would have thrown the ball more, they could have put up at least a touchdown or two more.

Saturday night in Death Valley is still one of my favorite places in the world!!

What happened to Russell Sheppard? He was supposed to compete for time at QB. What position is he playing, and why?

He comes in for the Wildcat formation, and runs it every time - teams have picked up on that, so it wasn't even tried last night.

congrats Gator.

our D played well enough to win this game.
I'll let y'all know if our offense ever makes it to Tiger Stadium.
I think their bus is stuck in traffic or something.

Always a nice venue and pumped up crowd. You guys just never had it over on our side of the 50 enough for it to seem as - I dunno - "threatening" as you usually are. I never felt we would lose once we got into the 4th with that lead. We got too much pressure on your QB for a 3 or 4 man rush. I pin the loss on the Tiger o-line, even though it is the QB that will take the heat.

Good luck when you play Bama. Knock 'em off and let's rematch in Atlanta.

it's a combination of the two.

Jefferson takes a little longer than a month to set, wind-up, and release.
He also can't see a wide open Terrance Toliver if he's not the main option on a pass play.

With that said, our O-Line simply sucks this year.

we finally looking like we're at least considering running the ball effectively.
Scott averaged 4 yards a touch last night.
Not bad against a dam good Florida D.

So now that they're opening holes for the rb, the quit blocking for the QBs.
Although it's impossible to quit something you've never started.

I still like our chances against Bama.
If our D continues to improve at this rate, they'll be pretty solid come Nov.

But that other shithole school from two states east is next on the agenda.
Gotta take care of them inbreds first.
