I slowed it down and it looked like it hit the turf between his hands and he 1-hopped it, IMO. You can see the nose of the ball behind his hands on the field turf. It's a shame the camera crew never showed us a close-up replay of the initial catch. They only focused on the spot of the runner.

Actually wouldn't have minded Glass Fredo winning this one. While it wouldn't have meant anything to next year's computers, getting a win against a bowl winner from last season, certainly would have been noticed by the human voters.

I don't know. I can't imagine too many voters going "You know, Toledo did win the Pizza Bowl versus Florida International..."

I just think you're giving the depth of thought by poll voters too much credit. I doubt many of them have any idea who won bowls the prior year, other than the BCS bowls.
