ELIJAH MELENDEZ PICKS UP OHIO STATE OFFER

Ohio State has offered another talented linebacker in the 2025 class. The Buckeyes extended an offer to Florida four-star linebacker Elijah Melendez earlier this week, making him the 16th linebacker OSU has offered in the 2025 cycle thus far. Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, the 6-foot-2, 223-pound linebacker is considered the 245th-ranked prospect and the 26th-rated linebacker. He’s picked up nearly 30 Division I offers, including from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Miami, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Texas A&M, UCF and USC.

ELIJAH MELENDEZ TO VISIT OHIO STATE FOR PENN STATE GAME

Since picking up an offer from Ohio State in August, four-star 2025 Florida linebacker Elijah Melendez has been searching for a weekend that works for him and his family to visit Ohio State. After planning on visiting for the second home game against Western Kentucky, Melendez has rescheduled his trip to this Saturday for the Penn State game, where there will be no shortage of high-profile recruits in attendance.

“It’ll be great to see them in person and for them to get a look at my size in person,” Melendez told Eleven Warriors before his since-cancelled September visit. “I want to see how the linebackers play and just how the players like it, really. I want to see how the fanbase is and how organized everything is.”

In September, Melendez said he’s already finalized a top seven schools list of Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Arkansas, Kentucky and Miami. While he’s narrowed down his recruitment, Melendez said he doesn’t have a timeline in mind as of now.

The weekend was great!" Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola linebacker Elijah Melendez said. "The game was so electric and the fan base was the best I've seen and they're really just a winning program and their coaches really want me here and I just really like it a lot. Ohio State is very high on my list and I’m gonna be back for another game possibly this fall and definitely for a official visit.

ELIJAH MELENDEZ PUTS OHIO STATE IN HIS TOP 10

One of Ohio State’s top linebacker targets in the 2025 class has narrowed down his recruitment. One day after his visit to Ohio Stadium, four-star Florida prospect Elijah Melendez released a top 10 on Sunday: Ohio State, Colorado, LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Miami, Michigan, Georgia Tech, Kentucky and USC.

Melendez has publicly admitted Ohio State has been near the top of his recruitment in the past few months, and that likely hasn’t changed after a successful visit to Columbus. Ohio State would like to take four linebackers in the 2025 cycle, and adding a player of Melendez’s caliber would be a great addition for Jim Knowles and James Laurinaitis.

Ohio State, LSU, Miami, Georgia Tech, Michigan and USC are the front-runners for the 2025 four-star linebacker from Osceola (Fla.) Kissimmee but the word is that the Buckeyes and the Tigers have emerged as the top teams.
His weekend trip to Columbus could not have gone better especially since Melendez really felt like a priority by the coaching staff and that’s big when he’s ready to commit.
