First Job Incentives? (Med Insur)

they're pushing me to find something with that. I don't plan on altering my plans on their account, but it would be nice if I were able to tell them how uncommon such benefits are in the current market.
Don't alter you career for insurance. Find a way to get insurance (high risk which carries a low monthly deductible and is used for certain life events , OSU Alumni Assocation medical insurance, etc.) If you throw away a career for benefits you will kick yourself in the ass forever. The jobs with the best benefits are usually low risk (and low pay). There's an old expression, I don't remember who said it but it goes something like "There is not a lack of opportunity in America, just a lack of courage." If you want to be a photographer go for it and yes find a way to get some sort of 'minimal' health coverage. Especially if you are healthy. Check it out online, I am sure there are many places to go.

I am fortunate enough to have a wife that is a teacher, and her benefits are fantastic from an insurance standpoint. Before I was married I found myself in the same situation at times, I took insurance if it was available but I didn't break myself to get it.

As we grow older insurance becomes more valuable that is for damn sure.

The thing to do is find a 10 hour/week job at a unionized grocery store. Even the baggers and cart people are union members, and they get pretty damn good benefits as such.
Now you're talking... the problem is I want to have Thur-Sun clear so I can shoot horse shows and/or HS/youth sports tournaments. That doesn't mesh well with full-time jobs.

The only issue is that I have a few medications that I take regularly (I probably should have included that in the original message)...
