I've noticed for quite a while that when I view youtube videos that are embedded in another page (primarily here on BP), Firefox consumes 97% or more of my system resources. That occasionally causes the video to pause the system to hang for a moment. I did some searching on the web and ended up uninstalling adobe flash (using their unistaller) and then reinstalled the program. No change. Today, I just went to the youtube website instead and noticed that when watching videos there my cpu usage goes up to maybe 50% or so at the most. For one final test, I watched a video here on BP and the usage was basically 100%. I followed the video link and watched the same video on the actual youtube site in which case it only consumed about 50%.
Anyone have an explanation? It's not that big of a deal, but I'm curious.
