So almost all of you have nothing to say besides insults. Shocking.
Here we go bringing up facts and [Mark May].
Purdue has no final fours , NW hasnt made a tournament ever, Iowa 0 final fours, Minn 0 final fours...Get the point ..tOSU is a great school but we are not entitled to anything we have to earn it and 200 other schools are trying just as hard. Gain some perspective!
So which of those coaches are we going to get to come to a football school?I brought up facts you all just chose to ignore them. I showed that Roy Williams, Coach K, Bill Self, Tom Izzo, and Billy Donovan all had AT LEAST 1 NC in the same amount of time in their program as Matta does in his 10 years at Ohio State. You can brush it off again now like I know you all will....
Billy Donovan turned down the Orlando Magic job to stay at Florida, or so they say. My bet is he really turned it down hoping Matta would be fired and he could go to Columbus. So which of those coaches are we going to get to come to a football school?

You seem like a smart person, so what should:
Roy Williams had to go from Kansas to UNC to win (in 17 years). Self had to go from Illinois to Kansas (with Roy's players) to win it (in 15 years). Dean Smith took 21 years. Boeheim took 26 years and Melo. John Wooden took 17 years of HC experience before winning it all. Not to cherry-pick, but Coach K took 11 years.
So ignore those facts and take some Ritalin.
Roy Williams won the NC within 2 and 6 years at UNC, Kansas was his first job so he was learning still. That's like blaming Matta for not titles at Butler or Xavier, which even I wouldn't do. Self won his in 5 years at Kansas his first top tier HC gig after learning at lesser schools.... Like Thad. Dean Smith nor Wooden I never mentioned anyhow so that is pointless actually . Way different ERA anyhow. Coach K did take 11 years at Duke to win his first, so therefore Matta is almost tied with him... if he wins one next year. Except Coach K went to the Final 4 three times before that title, Thad has managed one. Not to mention Coach K only had a small stint at Army to learn the ropes as a new HC... just like Thad at Butler and Xavier. Funny how you left out Izzo though bc he hurts your argument
So obviously nobody expected Matta to win a title at Butler or Xavier. Doesn't excuse only one appearance and no title for OSU since 2004, and only one Final Four trip period.
So ignore those facts that prove those guys progressed and won titles after learning the ropes at a school before, titles is something Matta has yet to win any of. Which with his excelletn recruiting is quite sad.
My lord, this guy is the gold standard for the type of fans that make me want to stay away from message boards.
It's the same as football...if your standard for success is national championships, you're going to be a miserable bastard. It's just mind-numbing listening to these nincompoops. The best part, these "fans" go on forums bitching and moaning and never offer any solutions. So here's your chance HOLYBUCKEYE10, Thad Matta has been fired. The administration just [Mark May]canned the most successful coach here in a generation, one of the most decorated B1G coaches of the last decade. Now, who in their right mind is going to take this job knowing that if you do not deliver a national championship, you're gonna get canned. I'm all ears...
BTW, if/when Matta does win a NC here, you're allowed no joy from it. That seems fair.
