There is no need to avoid the game thread on game day. Criticism is acceptable but remember the common saying in rugby: "Play the ball, not the man".
It's acceptable to make observations about the state of play in the game. For instance, "They are getting through on the right side of the line. Lineman X is getting pushed back off the line of scrimmage almost every play." or "Robo has been open four times on the long ball today and Quarterback X hasn't seen him. Look for Tressel to exploit that in the second half."
Grad21 and other mods have given lots of examples of what is not acceptable. If you think what you just said might be bashing a player or coach, it probably is.
Think of these players and coaches as if they were members of your family, of whom you were very proud because they achieved their dream to play for Ohio State.
Then, treat them like they really were family when you post.
