And if the bucks lose this game pre-season polls will find ND #!1!!!, the Big Ten will disappear and Alabama will be named the team of the 21st century and we will have to listen to ESPN bull shit about SEC and the ghost of Knute Rockne ad nauseam.

Don't know if that matters to the kids, but it sure would feel like butt hurt to me.

Agreed, although this strikes me as a classic "Everything to lose, nothing to gain" situation which is difficult to get excited for. If the Buckeyes win, will anybody outside of Buckeye Nation give a shit? If they lose, well, you just said what will happen.

The matters to the kids part is where I am coming from.. The bowl game is a slog for a lot of them especially seniors. Too much time between games and as we have seen for 50 plus years the results are skewed by motivation or lack of it. I was pissed when we lost Rose Bowls when I was in school in the 70's but a classmate told me they saw the trip as a reward not a live or die game. Since then I try not to get to let it matter.

Yeah, I'm kinda feeling that way too. But a lot of us felt that way about the *ichigan game, and look how that turned out. It's not the playoffs, but it's a big bowl, prime New Year's Day time slot, major (somewhat hated) opponent, last hurrah for a lot of guys, good chance to finish up ranked in the top 5.... I think Urban and the boys get it done.

I think it is my normal worry, but I am worried about this one. Kelley is a good coach, they have good players, and we have Fucking Tim Beck. Yeah, I am very worried. If we throw the damn ball 12 times again we lose.
