FBI investigating ref (Donaghy) who may have fixed games...

Just another reason for me to hate Professional BB. Though it will be entertaining to see what comes of this.

Ding ding ding!!! Winner winner, chicken dinner

If the NBA ceased all operations today and never played again, I wouldn't notice until mid January. But watching this most recent black eye fester into something serious will be fun.

The NBA sucked before this issue

sucked during this issue

and will continue to suck like a black hole long after.

So is it true that you think the NBA sucks?

UH OH!!!

Just heard on one of those top of the hour sports reports that the former ref is receiving very threatening phone calls and is now receiving some police protection.

I believe there are some other refs/players/personnel out there that are mixed up in this. There have already been leaks that the investigation has spread a little despite Stern's statement of an isolated individual. I suppose it could just be organized crime trying to shut him up but my bet is on other NBA associated people.

If people are trying to kill him, that might be because they are afraid of what he'll say - which means he may have some use still. The officiating in the league has been absolutely dreadful for the past 6-7 years, and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if more officials were involved. And certainly there are some implications of organized crime as well.

This is certainly the last thing the NBA needed. This is a league that is already trying to overcome perceptions of poor play and covert, but extremely prevalent, racism.
