Favourite rock instrumental

My top 3

Green Onions - Booker T & the MGs (in their heyday the Tightest Rhythm Section known to man).
Peaches En Regalia - Frank Zappa (& Don't You Eat No Yellow Snow!)
Albatross - Fleetwood Mac (when they still were a GREAT band)

Also very worthy of mention yet rarely if ever heard --
Alice in Blunderland - Captain Beefheart

"Friends" by satriani is also good.
yes, "session" by linkin is also nice. in fact, there are a few on the matrix and matrix reloaded soundtracks that are good...but some are likely considered techno as opposed to rock.

Old fart here........

Tubular Bells Mike Oldfield
Ina Gada Da Vida Iron Butterfly

Tubular Bells is the theme from The Exorcist, right? That's a quality duo you've got there.
During the final episode of Seinfeld, a radio station n Baltimore played the entire version of Ina Gada da Vida, including the 17 minute drum solo. Outstanding stuff.

"In the Garden of Eden, by I. Ron Butterfly."
"Wait a minute...this sounds like rock and/or roll!"

A couple others:
Classical Gas by Mason Williams
Walk, Don't Run by the Ventures (I think that was the band's name)

Yep that was Tubular Bells in the Exorcist. I had forgotten all about that. Thanks for the memories.
