Favorite State Motto?

What's your favorite state motto?

Personally, I think "Live free or die" is pretty good. I imagine Homer Simpson saying it while shaking his fist.

Not sure I have a favorite, but the worst has to be Maryland - Fatti maschi, parole femmine (Italian, "Manly deeds, womanly words")

Connecticut: "He who transplanted sustains"

Kansas: "To the stars through adversity"

North Carolina: "To be rather than to seem" (inspired by Wallace Stevens? "Let be be the finale of seem")

Montana: "Gold and Silver" (Is Yukon Cornelius from Montana?)

Actually, upon further review, most of the mottos suck (with the exception of New Hampster's).

As an alternative to the State Mottos, I thought I'd peruse the State Slogans.

My favorite is Colorado's: "Enter a Higher State"
