Thomas Kemper Root Beer, the best root beer I've tried without a doubt. On tap its even better! Pyramid Breweries in Seattle makes it. I know that Thomas Kemper is available all up and down the west coast and I think as far east as Chicago. Under the Thomas Kemper label Pyramid also makes Orange Cream, Vanilla Cream, Birch Beer and Black Cherry. I've tried all of those too and they are all very tasty.

So it is a bit more widespread than I thought. In the proverbial "interests of full disclosure" I should mention that I am a Pyramid stock holder, however I bought the stock after I had tried the root beer, and after Pyramid bought Thomas Kemper. Pyramid (PMID) started their operation sometime in the early 80's, I believe, around the same time that Red Hook, Hale's Ales and the other NW regionals started up. Pyramid's stock went up to about $21 per share in the first year or two then it crashed along with the other small craft brewers. It stayed sub $2 per share for the longest time until the last 3-4 years when it has been between $2-3. For the last few years the Thomas Kemper division has been one of the money makers for the company.

Any way try it and tell me what you think.

I can get it in NC but I have to drive to Raleigh to get it. By the way has anybody tried Frostie Root Beer? I drank it as as a kid and always thought it was pretty good.....
