I never really got into PC games, but I played The Sims and Roller Coaster Tycoon when I first started using computers.

I put sports in another catagory, especially since most of them I play on consoles.

As you can tell I agree on Civilization. No better game on a super long plane flight. Great way to kill 8 hours, and action games are tough on an airplane.

Ultima Underworld II (an oldie, but still one of the better games I've played)
Duke Nukem 3D (fond memories of playing LAN deathmatches in programming class in High School.... I was the "Macrovirus", and none of the senior boys in the class took losing to a sophomore female very well )

Ahh the memories, same here. We also played a ton of Rise of the Triad via Lan Deathmatch. Those were the 2 best FPS' by far.
