I always thought of bourbon & American as the same. F.E. Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, Old Crow, etc. are bourbons, at least to me. So what would an American whiskey be? (not trying to pick nits here, but am genuinely curious.)Come to texas and it seems like there are four kinds of liquor, American, Canadian, Scotch, or Bourbon Whisky.
I'm usually a happy drunk but Gin is one of the few alcohols that doesn't have that effect on me, especially Tanqueray.
I used to have a roomate like that, except it was with tequila. We always knew to plan on a fight if he started doing shots of tequila.
Crown & mountain dew (great for a headache remedy)

Also my buddies and I call these Black Outs in a bottle, because if you drink a 6 to 12, you are blacking out. 12 pack Corona, fifth of Bacardi Limon. Drink out the neck of the corona and fill with 1 1/2 to 2 shots of Bacadi Limon, flip bottle over and mix(caution will build pressure so take finger off of top away from people). NO Lime needed. After about 7-8 corona's you have around 20 drinks in you, because we all know the more we drink the stronger we make them.
Bourbon is actually a type of American whisky. It is, however, so much more popular because of its sweet taste and smooth qualities that I gave it its own category. Here is a link to help you discern the difference.
