Favorite Christmas Traditions

My family has a treasured tradition we observe every year. Either on Christmas Day or the day after, like this year, we leave the house for a brief time. Our Labrador retriever then finds and eats the expensive Anthony Thomas Chocolate we buy for each other. 4 years in a row. Now, you may be asking "But JC, isn't chocolate really bad for dogs?". To that I would say "you would think". Doesn't seem to effect her much. Then you might ask "But JC, if it happens every year, why the fuck don't you make sure it is put out of her reach?". To that I would also say "you would think"

This year she was alone for 15 GODDAMNED MINUTES and went straight for my chocolate covered cherries. She is exhibiting no ill affects (per my wife). Well, until I get home.
The Lab died 2 years ago this coming Feb. We have a goldendoodle now who loves all food but not to the obsessive level as the lab, so this Christmas tradition has been consigned to a memory.

I do miss her.

Hope everyone had a great holiday.

Its that time of year again, my daughter came home on Saturday night - she spent the day making her now locally famous hard tack candy. Then it was her idea (she's 20, son is 15) for both kids, her BF, his GF to go see Christmas lights and then back to our place where the "kids" all made gingerbread houses and we played a few card games - it was a great day.

the older i get the more i LOVE this time of year.

She's planning out the Jesus cake today, prepping appetizers to take to my parents on Wednesday

Hope all of you knuckleheads have a Merry Christmas season with family and loved ones

We make a “Happy Birthday Jesus” cinnamon bundt cake that my wife has picked up making since her grandmother has passed.

It is unbelievable!
