MEATLOAF
The man with one of the most colorful stage names in show business was born Marvin Lee Aday. Over the years, he has given several different stories on how he got his nickname. The most common one is that he stepped on the foot of his high school football coach, who, instead of cursing, shouted 'Meat Loaf!'.

Good thing his coach had some restraint...not too sure that Mr. Aday would've gone too far had the coach screamed, "Fuckin' asshole!", instead...

Three members of Pussy Riot -- a Russian punk band and feminist collective that mocked Russian president Vladamir Putin during a "punk prayer" in a Moscow cathedral--have been found guilty of hooliganism and sentenced to two years in jail
Judge Marina Syrova announced the verdict from a district court in central Moscow, about two miles from the Christ the Saviour Cathedral where the guerrilla group performed its "flash" stunt.
The band members--Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, 22, Maria Alyokhina, 24, and Yekaterina Samutsevich, 30--were arrested on March 3, several weeks after the performance, and charged with "hooliganism." They've been in jail ever since.

Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem

It's funny, though. They don't really look like Presbyterians.

The Electric Mayhem (from top to bottom): Animal, Dr. Teeth, Floyd, Janice, and Zoot.

Green Jello who were sued by Kraft & had to change their name to Green Jelly.

A friend who was played gigs back in the 80/90's somewhere down in FL clamis that at the time a local businessman purchased tons of billboards all over town with a photo of his missing daughter & the line "Have You Seen Jenny?" so of course a local band quickly changed their name to "Have You Seen Jenny?".

During one of John Goodman's frequent guest shots on SNL he did a skit about a couple of hillbillies sitting around trying to come up with a name for their band, the one that has always stuck in my mind was 'Festus Portmeyer and The Buttertop Mountain Boys'. If I ever start up a bluegrass band (an admittedly unlikely proposition) they absolutely will be named Festus Portmeyer and The Buttertop Mountain Boys.

I've also always thought that 'Servant Girl, Annihilator & The Axeman' would make a fantastic band name.
