Favorite Away Game Experience

Here's a question for those of you that have traveled to Arizona for many of the games that have been played here. How do you like the new stadium compared to Sun Devil stadium? I know it's really nice but it's way out in bumfuck nowhere, they've tried to build shit around it but it's still like a third world bazaar. Tempe is an ideal location for a football game. Yes, the stadium is old but being right next to the school is so convenient for entertaining oneself.

I was in attendance for the Fiesta Bowl against Texas and I have nothing but great things to say about the new stadium. I never was able to attend a game at the old Sun Devil stadium but I absolutely loved the new one.

Favorite: TSUN, 2005. Won a boat load of money at the casino Friday night, found a great spot to tailgate, and then Smith to Gonzo with Pittman capping off the comeback.

Second favorite: Texas, 2006. Spent a week down there. Enough said.

Worst: Northwestern, 2004. It was about 30 degrees that night, and the offense featured Justin Zwick and Lydell Ross. That was a long subway ride back to the hotel.

I would agree that the new stadium is awesome but the experience is not as fun when you are 45 minutes away from your hotel and the bulk of the party areas. Add in the fact that we got the shit kicked out of us both times I was there and I prefer the old stadium.
In terms of Bowl games you can't go wrong with NOLA, I have a better time each and every time I go down there although it isn't a traditional tailgating environment.

Too bad there is no BCS game in Vegas.

Big 10 roadies are interesting in that we take over the whole place at places like Indiana and NW which makes it pretty fun. Wisky and Crappy Valley are the only places I don't really ever have a great time.

Seems like the consensus is that even though Michigan is the #1 Rival, you haven't been terribly mistreated in your trips to Ann Arbor.

At least not to the extent of the miserable treatment at PSU and Wisky.

Curious if people have had bad experiences at Iowa games?

I was at Iowa during our NC run with Troy, Teddy, Gonzo & co.

It was a night game and Iowa was top 20 or top 15 (maybe even top 10, can't remember) - we scored some sweet seats and were on the 20, about 6-7 rows up. There was 1 guy in particular who was an asshole - he had shutup by the 2nd quarter.

No problems in Iowa for a big-time game. They were all boozed up by kickoff, but nothing crazy like you hear about at Penn State.
