You are correct. The Okapi is the only living relative of the Giraffe. They live almost exclusively in the jungles of the Congo and are among the most reclusive of all animals.

An overabundance of oryx has prompted range wildlife managers and the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish to activate a state plan for the management of the animals on and off the range.
The Comprehensive Oryx Management Plan identifies the need to reduce the overall population in New Mexico from around 3,000 to about 1,000, according to WSMR Wildlife Biologist Patrick Morrow.

One of my favorites is my greyhound "Fast Willie Parker"!!!
He is at Ohio State however going to have surgery tomorrow in the early afternoon!
He's in the best place possible for a greyhound, they specialize in greyhound health there!
Next, My other dog whom now is cancer free thanks to Ohio State!
And lastly my Quarter horse Sonny who actually has a birthday on 5/9 tomorrow he will be 20!
Ohio State also had him there 2 times a fracture in the leg in 1995 & lastly in 2003 a colon displacement which was very life threatening.
I think we will name a wing at the OSU vet hospital in our name! The best place in the world!:osu:

A liger. It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic

Glad to see i'm getting some love!

And on the topic of hyenas they are not in the cat family or the dog family. From wiki Although hyenas bear some physical resemblance to dogs, they make up a separate biological family which is most closely related to Herpestidae (the family of mongooses and meerkats).
