Fantasy Football Advice

I heard an extensive discussion that Bull and Fox had with a CBSSports fantasy guy the other night about this very question, in terms of the 2 QB league...he said grab one of the elite 4 if you can in round 1, then ideally grab a second upper tier QB in round 3, allowing you still to do a elite RB/Graham/elite WR in Round 2. The trick is if you pick after Brees, Manning, Rodgers, and Stafford are all gone...at that point I would think you would take elite player in round 1 and maybe pick up QBs in rounds 2-4. With a 8 team league you are only talking about 16 QBs...you will get into some average guys but it's not like you'll be starting Weeden every week. Watch what other people are doing...if there is a big run on QBs, resist the urge to overbuy average ones and get elite players at other positions in the first couple of rounds. But if the idiots are leaving Brees for you in round 1 and Romo in round 3...grab them.

@WolverineMike Fred Jackson is going to be all over the place as usual. As long as Spiller remains healthy, you're going to be praying for goal-line looks. Maclin will probably end up being your go-to Flex guy if he can remain healthy. Nobody knows what to expect from MJD in Oakland, but since they'll probably be playing from behind as usual, he might be useful if your league is PPR getting some grabs. Woodhead is another interesting prospect as he had a great year catching the ball & scoring TD's, but Matthews ran the ball tremendously and now they have Donald Brown to steal some touches too.

First draft of the season. I have my final on Tuesday (which is my pay league)
This draft was probably the most frustrating I've encountered. The player I wanted went one pick ahead of mine on 3 separate occasions.

QB - Cutler. Sadly Stafford was taken just one pick before I could get him in the 5th. So I dropped down to the 7th and got Culter. Personally I'm not excited, I'm just hoping he stays healthy.
RB - Murray. It is what it is. The Cowboys Oline should be pretty good and made some nice running lanes for him. I couldn't complain for a 2nd round pick as all other locks for that spot were pretty much gone.
RB - Gore. I Took him a fair bit later. I feel I got some pretty good value as I still expect him to have 1000 yards and 6-9TD's. (Yes, I also was able to pick up Hyde much later as the handcuff)
WR - Antonio Brown. My 3rd round pick. I feel I got some good value here again. The only issue is that he's going to see Joe Haden and an improved Cincy secondary 4 times a year. But he's still the clear #1 on that team.
I fully expect Fatty to force the ball to him a lot.
WR - Eldeman. Ehh. While I don't think he'll catch 105 passes, I do think he'll have a couple more touchdowns. Plus the Pats are having issues with their skill players staying healthy so he's a mortal lock to see the ball. It also
helps that Pats WR's have the projected 5th easiest schedule this year.
TE- Jimmy Graham. I don't think I have to explain this. Week 1 against Atlanta might be a career day and I might be able to secure a win against a Peyton Manning led team because of him.
Flex1 - Kyle Rudolph. I fully expect him to be this year's Jordan Cameron. I also cannot complain at all where I got him at. I guess people in my league forgot that Norv Turner is Minny's OC.
Flex2 - (Yes, a flex instead of a 3rd WR spot) I'll get to this in a moment because its up in the air.

I drafted my bench based on pure potential this season since I feel I have proven production starting

Bench1 - Travis Kelce. He might get that Flex spot week 1 with no Dwayne Bowe.
Bench2 - Hyde
Bench 3 - Johnathan Stewart. Hear me out, he's looked infinity better than Williams. If he's healthy passed week 4, he might get the nod at Flex or in place of Gore because Carolina plays a shitty CHI defense and Gore will be against KC.
Bench 4 - Another RB stash - Devonta Freeman. No way this kid doesn't become Atlanta's #1 RB by mid season. If he does I either have another flex weapon or trait bait.
bench 5- Brian Quick. He's the #1 target and Shaun Hill's favorite in STL. Plus he had a hell of a pre-season.
bench 6 - Benard Pierce. He too, could get the flex nod in the first 2 weeks. He looked pretty good the other game and the Ravens really dont have other options at the moment.

edit: Almost forget. I have New England's defense as well. I wanted to go with a better value pick of STL squad, but I have a feeling they're going to give up points and yards in the late game because their offense can't keep them off the field for long.

I have my money league draft tomorrow. The setup is QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, Flex...and it's 1/2 PPR. With the 3 starting WRs, and me picking 10th out of 10....I'm almost wondering if it makes more sense for me to go WR/WR with the first two picks unless something idiotic like Jamal Charles or Adrian Peterson falls into my lap. Good idea...or am I then screwed because by the time it comes back around to me in the 3rd every worthy RB will be gone?

You might be onto something with the WR/WR. Especially if the league is 1/2 PPR. You could always go for some solid pass catching RB's/Hbacks in the mid round. I.E Bush, Woodhead, Sproles, Clay. By the time the 10th pick rolls around all the elite RB's are gone, fringe players will exist. If you went WR/RB You could have Demarco Murray, Ryan Matthews, LeVeon Bell, Andre Ellington, Zac Stacey, etc etc... available in that 2nd round.

Yes, a top 10 pick. While Lacy may be a top 10 pick that doesn't mean I'll have any reserve sitting him for a player that could out produce him that week.

There is no such thing as pride in fantasy football, my friend.
true enough.. but a work horse is a work horse, and I have a feeling Seattle wont be anywhere near as dominate as they were last year.
