I'll admit that I really like it. I've reconnected with so many people from my past it's crazy. I've recently been in touch with a lot of my ASU friends on there, and we've been posting many photos of us from those days. It's been fun!

Thats the only reason I'm on there...is to keep in touch with family that is across the world and friends from high school.

I would comment but I have to update my facebook page first.

Let me guess, you want to update your status to say "Gost8 is posting on Buckeye Planet"

The abuse of updates is my #1 pet peeve about Facebook. Like I give a shit that some loser from my high school days was enjoying a cup of coffee at 9:17 this morning or that my wife's friend from work is now friends with somebody I've never heard of.

Other than that, I like using it.

Was being sarcastic.

I guess my loser friends like to know what a loser like me is doing.

until you lose your job and you need a network. its not like you have to talk to them.

Seems to me that a lot of people have been fired b/c of their Facebook pages.

Besides, if you knew where I was from, you'd realize there's not much networking to be done.

its also nice to have contacts in different cities around the country. like if OSU plays a game in Tampa (just for arguments sake) I will go on FB find who is from Tampa and ask them where to hang out etc. Trust me, the pluses far outweight the minuses. The only people to get fired for FB are the ones that don't know how to click the box that says only friends can view profile.

Well, that's their own damn fault. My boss and the director of my company are on Facebook. I'm careful, but it doesn't stop me from using it. I'm smart enough to figure out what might get me fired. It can be a great networking tool, if you want it to be (as is LinkedIn).

absolutely! Just had an interview yesterday thanks to a professor recommending my account on LinkedIn. First thing they did was give me a laptop and had me pull up my facebook account...

Luckily my old status of " ... is wondering if Hines Ward is still a member of the Vietcong..." was removed the day before.:wink2:

I was one of the last of my friends to get one...just for the sake of being stubborn.

Got it this past summer, I'm on it daily. It's fun to check in with friends.

My status for all those who care (:p) "...wonders why more girls can't be like the one in the Jim Beam commercial."

I understand the whole keeping up with friends thing I do it too. However I feel like relationship Darwinism is being fucked with, those relatioships need to die. Besides my Facebook friends get married and I find out through their status. I'm not friends with them anymore I'm friends with their Facebook profile. The best thing about Facebook are groups.

My personal favorites:

Stevie Ray Vaughan sucessfully melted my face!
I'd rather spoon my ear canal out of my skull then listen to Kid Rock!
Chris Sabo died for our sins.
My friends are getting married I'm just getting drunk.
Before Chuck Norris goes to bed, he checks the closet for Christopher Walken.
If God is real, then he is Eric Clapton
