absolutely! Just had an interview yesterday thanks to a professor recommending my account on LinkedIn. First thing they did was give me a laptop and had me pull up my facebook account...

Luckily my old status of " ... is wondering if Hines Ward is still a member of the Vietcong..." was removed the day before.:wink2:

Big fan of Linkedin and it has been helping me tremendously in my job search. I see it as the business networking site.

On the flip side, I have no facebook page as I see that as the site that my teenager uses to keep up with her friends....

I do know that an acquaintance of mine is teaching a class on how to use Facebook and Linkedin for Realtors....

Not surprising in the least -- actually quite inevitable.
and you would have to be an absolute moron to fall for it.

By the way I have a business proposition for you guys. A doctor from Zimbabwe has left 3.2 million dollars behind. If you want a cut send me your bank account number and routing number.

Actually sending money to someone on Facebook, yes, that's a moron move, but it is completely inevitable that people (for a variety of reasons besides financial fraud) would create profiles under other people's names (including accurate personal info & pictures and such) and get "friended" by unassuming Facebookers

I still wouldn't send anyone money without talking to them first. Especially not with Western Union. (I hope it is pretty much common knowledge that Western Union is a criminals best friend.)
