Explosion outside Oklahoma-KSU game (2005)

What genius thought this up?

NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma has put up a memorial to a student who died when a homemade bomb exploded near the OU football stadium. A stone with the name of Joel Hinrichs III was placed outside the OU student union by the student affairs division. Hinrichs died Oct. 1, 2005, when the bomb he built detonated as he sat on a campus bench near Memorial Stadium while a football game was under way. University officials ruled the death an accidental suicide.

Hinrichs' father -- Joel Hinrichs Jr. -- said the university offered to have the stone placed. Families normally pay about $150 for the memorials, and Hinrichs said he's offered to pay, but OU hasn't sent him a bill.

even in the best case scenario that it was all a random accident in which he was just experimenting with bombs and it just so happened to go off......it was around a stadium full of people and now they are memorializing him.....nothing else needs to be said.

The authorities actually called this an "accidental suicide?"

What the hell is this? The guy built a bomb, sat with it right next to a stadium filled with 70,000 people, then thought better of it and put the thing back in his backpack and the wires touched???

Only in Norman. "Is That You Norman?" Yes, Mother....................BANG!!!

OU Bomber memorialized

I don't remember this from 2005, but here's the background story first:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_University_of_Oklahoma_bombing

Basically, this loser strapped a bomb to himself and was going to go into an OU football game and kill a bunch of students. Instead....the dipshit blew himself up right outside the stadium on the way in. Apparently he had Jihad articles in his appartment. The FBI ultimately decided he wasn't a terrorist.

Fast forward to now: http://newsok.com/article/3045592/. That site needs a registration, so here's the story:

So they're memorializing somebody who tried to blow up their student section at a football game? wtf? If I was an OU student, that thing wouldn't be up past today.
